Sectors
Jack Hammond spent ten years in corporate and business banking at CBA and NAB. At both banks he managed some of their biggest clients, responsible for portfolios of more than $350 million. He led the $650 million sale of Affinity Education to Quadrant Private Equity — part of more than $5 billion of M&A and corporate finance across his career. As CEO of Lovisa’s Asia-Pacific business, he ran a 1,000+ store, corporate-owned network inside one of Australia’s biggest retail success stories — a $2 billion-plus ASX company. Executive MBA, Melbourne Business School, with a Harvard Business School exchange. His work spans retail and ecommerce, construction, professional services, healthcare and manufacturing — the industries that make up most of Australia’s private-business economy. Today he advises the owners of Australian private businesses doing $1M–$50M.
The banking years
Ten years in corporate and business banking — CBA on the institutional side, NAB in business and corporate banking. At CBA: portfolios of $350M+ for some of the bank’s biggest clients — reading owners’ numbers the way lenders read them.
For your business: we know how the other side of the table reads your numbers, before you sit down at it.
The transactions
$5B+ across M&A and corporate finance. The one to look up: Affinity Education — 150+ centres — sold to Quadrant Private Equity for $650 million, a record for an Australian childcare operator at the time. Jack led it from preparation to close.
For your business: we know what buyers pay for and what they punish.
The operator’s chair
CEO of Lovisa’s Asia-Pacific business: a 1,000+ store, corporate-owned network, a $2 billion-plus ASX company, one of Australia’s biggest retail success stories. Accountability for a region’s numbers, every week.
For your business: your plan is written by someone who has answered for a P&L, not just presented one.
The education
Executive MBA, Melbourne Business School — with a Harvard Business School exchange.
For your business: frameworks that answer to results, not the other way around.

The families
Alongside owner-led companies, Seven Capital advises a small number of business families and their family offices across Australia, Singapore and the US — on governance, succession, and preparing the next generation to lead. The work is a family charter that holds, a family council that meets and decides, and heirs who can read the business the way a lender reads it.
“Jack has been invaluable to my family office. He’s mentored and developed the next generation to confidently take over.”
No products. No commissions. Just counsel.
Seven Capital doesn’t manage money, sell products, or take a percentage of anything. The fee is fixed, agreed in writing before we start, and it is the entire relationship. Advice reads differently when nobody is paid to sell you something.
Why Seven Capital exists
Seven Capital was built around a gap our founder kept seeing. The businesses he banked, bought, sold and ran all had the same seats at the table: an accountant, a lawyer, sometimes a banker. Good people, doing their jobs well. And still the biggest decisions — the sale, the structure, the succession — belonged to nobody but the owner, who was already flat out running the place.
That’s the seat we take. Not the accounting, not the legal work, not financial product advice. The plan itself: written properly, argued over, then coordinated through your own advisers until it’s real.
We keep the client list short enough to do the work properly. You know your business better than any adviser ever will; our job is the parts you haven’t had to do before, because we have — in other people’s companies and in our own.
If something on this site sounds like your situation, send it through. We read every enquiry and reply within one business day. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so and point you to someone better placed.
Seven Capital Advisory

The best operators aren’t the ones with the sharpest theory. They’re the ones who have been on the floor, felt the pressure, and know what actually moves the needle.
Jack handles our monthly finances and end-of-year reporting with precision and minimal fuss. Reliable and thorough.
